So I am starting as a web developer at Mytopia on sunday. This is a pretty hot startup doing stuff in the gaming and social networking space. Right up ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) jducoeur's ally really. It will be quite intensive but otherwise an amazing job.
Its in Petach Tikva near the mall, so It should be a shorter drive for me. I just need to figure out the best route to get there. I'm thinking 5 to Morasha, then to 4, get off on Jabatinsky and go from there, but there may be a better way. |

Well the job tele-commuting to vermont may or may not happen, thought its still possible. As this is the case I spent today sending out CV's. I think I sent out about 15-20 or so. So far I have two interviews. One today at 4:30 with a company in Ranana (Though I'm meeting him in Jerusalem). And one in Tel Aviv on Sunday.
So while I'm not exactly calm I am more or less dealing. I'm pretty sure I will get one of these jobs and will be employed without any real break, so that is good. |

I just got laid off. They let most of the department go, so its not personal. I get 1 month of notice time in which I am still working and getting paid (and have my car) and 1 month of severance pay. So it could be a lot worse, but the timing SUCKS.
I'm now going to listen to some music and start job hunting, as I really don't have the energy to face depression right now.

I need to get this article finished by sunday, I think there is about 4 hours more work to do on it, I just need to buckle down and do it, and I'm tired and I don't want to. I want to skip work tomorow to do it. But I will be good and go to work and get that done, then do it when I get home after the dentist. |

This was started a week or so ago, just finishing it up...
First alergy season seems ot be here, my eyes are driving me nuts.
Second, the company that I work for in addtion to having a software development group also has a video group that does video for various non profits etc.
(They did the shake your lulav video that was on you tube for example). Well yesterday they asked me to be in one of them. I got to play "Guy trying to cross street in a wheelchair". So I got to try and cross Derech Hevron (the Hebron Rd) in Jerusalem in the chair a bunch of times. A few thoughts on being in a wheelchair, if only for a little bit...
1) It changes your eye level quite a bit, specificly it puts your eyes at chest level for female co-workers/crew members. It sort of like "Gee I don't meet to be looking right at your chest but well that is the height the chair puts me at." |

Between our group at work 1 person is about to make a Bar Mitzva for her son, another got engaged last night, Myriam and Zvi's wife are both expecting (as are we). And Yael who is in another group is also expecting. |

I am now using 3 computers at work with 4 screens. (And only one keyboard and mouse).
There is an unholy combination of Synergy and VNC going on to make this all work. Between them there is my laptop running OS X with an external monitor, a 2nd computer running linux with a 19" flat screen and a windows machine over in the corner being used via VNC so I can test stuff with Internet Explorer |

So the transport situation around here is getting worse. Egged has changed our busses so that we no longer have the 6:15 am inbound or the 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm outbound. We now have a 6:45-7:00 inbound which is too late for many people. ANd a 5:15 and 9:15 (maybe) and 11:15 bus home. This is making my life harder, I mostly hitchhike to and from Jerusalem, but with less busses there are now more people trying to hitch than before, so cars are fuller. Also getting home there is now a very large window with no bus. And I really don't like standing waiting for a ride unless I know there will be a bus, or I know that a someone with room will be by. This makes it a lot harder to work late.
It appears that much of this is due to a neighboring yishuv pulling strings so that their busses would not come to us, as we are out of the way.
With luck soon I will have a car |

Well I went and updated to a sponsored+ account, I want more icons and am going to try this.
In other news work is going well. The builder guy at work is nuts. The short version is that he is uber-right wing and not happy unless he is being persecuted, and if he isn't well than he will invent it. And he won't shut up, I ended up shooing him out of the room I was working when a co-worker came in by telling him that we had to talk about a bunch of stuff. (We sort of did, but not really) . I would have a lot more tollerence of his being nuts except that the office was suposed to be done by March 1, and is no where near finished.
I didn't sleep well last night, so I'm quite tired. I'm going to stay up just long enough to count the omer then go to bed.
In other news the new kingdom webpage is up, and running, I stil have a lot of work to do on it but I'm getting there. |

I still need to get into the swing of how to do this. I've been working on cleaning my office this morning. Its looking almost like a real office now. I need a whiteboard and some bookshelves now, another table to hold computers etc would help too. Maybe some shelves would do just as well.
For some reason our dustpan seems to be missing, I'll go look for it more later. |

I'm really tired, and right now my right hand is shaking pretty badly.
but the kitten is still cute, and it appears that she may not be deaf, which is good. We will take her to the vet for shots and stuff this week. |

To cross the raging main...
I’m thinking that I am going to leave early today (about 4:00) and catch the 577. It takes 2:30 to get me home but its door to door and I don’t end up sitting in Ariel wondering how I am going to get home.
Edit: I need to find a better way to get to and from work. I’m dead tired today, which is not good
Edit 2: It was closer to 2 hours. The driver dropped me off right at my front door. :) And since when we left Ariel I was the only one on the bus he skipped a few stops to go right to my house. My bus driver is a really nice guy. |
